Starting from zero: does ChatGPT know Worm Studio exists?

I checked whether Worm Studio currently ranks for SEO/GEO/AEO agency on Google and ChatGPT. It doesn’t. Not only that, I found a naming problem I wasn’t expecting.

Why are we checking this?

Worm Studio’s whole pitch is helping brands get found in AI search, not just Google. Before offering that to anyone else, it seemed worth finding out where we actually stand ourselves. So I ran three real prompts and wrote down exactly what came back, no editing.

“Who is Worm Studio?”

Nothing. ChatGPT doesn’t know our business exists. Instead, it returned three completely unrelated companies that happen to share the same name: a pop-culture collectibles workshop near Naples, Italy; a sound and electronic music studio in Rotterdam; and a floral design studio in East London. Not our humble SEO/GEO/AEO agency.

This is a more specific problem than Worm Studio (us) not ranking yet, it shows a brand and naming collision with three other, real business called “Worm Studio”, and right now (September 2026) none of them are us. This offers us a challenge, but also an important point, visibility work isn’t just about getting found, it’s about being found as the right company based on what the person is looking for.

“Who can help with AI search optimisation – UK agencies?”

A full shortlist of UK SEO agencies came back: Tilio, Otter Labs, 21 Degrees Digital, Molo Agency, Frontier15, GEO Intelligence, GEOQ, and Go Up, but our Worm Studio wasn’t among them.

“Good SEO/GEO agency UK?”

A second, mostly different shortlist of agencies: Found, Rank4AI, Kaizen, Go Up again, The SEO Works, Varn, and Passion Digital. Still no Worm Studio.

What the competitors who did show up have in common

It may feel disappointing to others upon seeing these results, and likely a position that many websites are facing in 2026 - but for us, this is exciting - it gives us real information, goals, targets and determination to prove that our expertise and knowledge can change our current online presence and visibility.

Here’s a few things from our competitors that we found interesting:

  • Several lean into narrow, specific positioning rather than generic “SEO agency” — Rank4AI describes itself as GEO-first across six AI platforms specifically, not SEO-plus-everything.
  • GEO Intelligence has published pricing starting at £299/month, aimed explicitly at SMEs — a level of transparency a lot of agencies avoid.
  • More than one combines GEO with an existing, established SEO/content/digital PR operation rather than treating it as a bolt-on.

These are all key learnings, and more importantly things that will influence our business model and the services we require. Being GEO-first feels like an important service proposition in 2026, with the increased use of AI usage.

Also, one thing we pride ourselves on here at Worm Studio is our clear and honest pricing strategy. No hidden costs, set-price service packages and real result-driven human support, research, communication.

The challenge

We will continue to monitor our visibility across Google and AI - we will be writing at least one human-written article a week, our articles will span multiple different categories:

  • Case Studies (like this one) - What we do
  • Fundamentals - Articles answering frequently asked questions
  • Technical SEO - How-tos and best practice
  • Commentary - About the wider SEO/AEO/GEO landscape and beyond

What happens next

As of right now, our business is at the bottom of the heap - in a few weeks it will slowly rise and we will continue documenting our process, learnings, knowledge and footfalls along the way.

Let’s see what we can do in a month with keyword optimised, human-written, authentic, knowledgable articles. We’re excited for October’s results.
